What is a funeral plan?

A funeral plan allows you to arrange and pay for your funeral in advance of need, providing emotional and financial peace of mind for you and your family.

Where do I have to go to arrange a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan?

A Perfect Choice Funeral Plan can be arranged at Caring Lady or in the comfort of your own home by prior appointment.

Who can arrange a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan?

The Perfect Choice Funeral Plan is available to anyone aged 18 and over. You can arrange a funeral plan for yourself or on behalf of a partner, relative or friend.

Do I need a medical to purchase a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan?

No, there are no medical questions and there is no medical required when applying for a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan, whether or not you have any existing medical conditions.

How much does a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan cost?

The cost of a funeral plan will depend on the options you choose, for example, the type of coffin and funeral vehicles, or if you require flowers, stationery or memorials. Will there be anything else to pay for at the time of the funeral?

A Perfect Choice Funeral Plan guarantees to provide the exact funeral services paid for with no hidden charges or conditions. Whether the funeral takes place in 5 or 50 years time, there will be nothing left to pay, covering all costs including any disbursements.

Will a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan cover costs if I die abroad?

The Perfect Funeral Plan does not cover funerals that take place aboard. If you plan to go abroad, you should ensure that your travel or medical insurance policy includes full cover for repatriation costs. Once repatriated to the UK, the funeral plan can then be used to arrange the funeral as normal.

How do I pay for a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan?

Payment for a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan can be made using a credit or debit card as a one off payment or in regular monthly instalments from 12 – 60 months. Instalments over 24 months will incur an additional instalment charge.

If I die prior to completing the instalment plan, is the fixed price still guaranteed?

In the event of payments lapsing through death, the guaranteed price for the service remains but the outstanding balance must be paid before the funeral can take place.

How will the person arranging my funeral know what to do when the time comes?

It is important to let the next of kin or executor know that you have arranged a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan and where the funeral plan certificate can be found. At the time of need, they must contact your chosen Funeral Director who will organise the funeral arrangements specified in the funeral plan.

Can the Perfect Choice Funeral Plan include special wishes?

You can add special wishes and requests such as song choices, readings, information for a eulogy and so on. There is no charge to add these details. There may be more to pay if you require additional features, services or upgrades.

Can I cancel a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan?

Yes, you can cancel your plan at any time. If you choose to cancel the plan up to 30 days from the date of purchase you’ll receive a full refund. If you cancel the plan after 30 days, you’ll receive a refund of the original amount paid, excluding the management fee.

Can I change a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan if my wishes change?

Yes, you can make changes to your plan after you have taken it out. Just let us know what you wish to change. There may be an additional cost if you add new features and services to your plan.

Will my money be safe?

After deducting the plan management fee the full funeral pre-payment is held securely in a whole of life assurance policy with a UK-based life assurance company that is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and regulated by the PRA and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The funds are ring-fenced to pay for your funeral when the time comes. The funds cannot be used for anything other than your funeral and are immediately available to your funeral director when the funeral is required.
