During 2010, Caring Lady Funeral Director sponsored the ‘Caring Lady Cup’ at this years Worthing Open Bowls Tournament.

Over the two weeks of competition, Caring Lady attended the event to promote their services as well as their pre-paid inflation proof funeral plans.

Caring Lady were delighted to be invited to sponsor this major event in Worthing, and hope to continue their relationship with the club into 2011.

Below are some facts about the tournamement:

· The Worthing Bowls tournament: dates back to 1933 and the sport dates back to the 13th Century. The oldest green is in Southampton circa.1299

· The World Bowls Championships: have been staged twice at Beach House Park, Worthing. First in 1972 and latterly in 1992.

· Worthing’s championship greens are revered as the best in the country

· The UK National Finals are played annually each August at Worthing’s Beach House Park

· There are over 1000 entries to the Open Tournament

· An estimated 3,000 spectators over the two weeks of competition

· Men and Women competing against each other on equal terms…a first in English sport.

· Bowls is seeking to be included in the 2016 Olympics

· Bowls is one of the largest participant sports in the UK

· Worthing is a global sporting icon thanks to Bowls.
